Code Week
Europe Code Week 2021 celebrations @ DES kindergarten & Primary school
Year 1 - Coding Unplugged- Students built a lego maze and then programmed a LEGO figure with read-aloud instructions from the start to the end of the maze
Year 2 & Year 3 - CODE WEEK 4 ALL CODE: cw21-2Lvxn
In this activity, students used the blocks and commands from Scratch Jr. to program their classmates on a physical grid. Some of the "tiles" had question marks that signified that the student and her/his team had to answer questions in order to proceed with their algorithm. This is an activity aimed at the consolidatation of the concepts of sequences and events that students have already been using during their coding lessons.
Year 4 - Learning about and using storyboards to create a story that will be then designed on Scratch 3
Year 5 - Coding a Halloween Themed game on Scratch 3
Year 6 - Inputs and Outputs with the microbit
GREECE
Bee-bot maths:
In this activity, each student was given a number and had to spot the square with the corresponding dots on the grid. Then he/she had to find a path and program the bee-bot accordingly to get there!
Mouse robot coding
In today’s stem class, our students had the opportunity to explore robotics once again, but this time in a different setting. Our robot is a programmable mouse that, just like any real mouse, likes cheese and needs our help to get to it! What the students need to do in all scenarios, is to come up with the right set of commands that the robot mouse will follow to get there. But first, the robot must be trained! This means that it needs to scan the set of commands we think as the right path to get to the cheese, and then carry out these commands in the exact same order on the template, where the cheese is and hopefully get to it!
