Artificial Intelligence

Fish or trash:

In this activity our students trained an artificial-intelligence robot online so that it can distinguish fish from trash. By processing images of various fish, the robot can gradually identify patterns and correctly recognise a fish (or in some other cases depending on the training, a particular fish with certain characteristics). The training of the robot and the data to be collected must be sufficient, otherwise the patterns may be erroneous. Our online robot needs to know the difference well, because it will have to clean up the ocean from the trash, not the fish! After the training,

the robot analyzed a random set of objects and labeled them based on its training. So our students had the opportunity to test the ability of the robot to make the right decision and see for themselves if the robot was well trained, or needed additional training with more data.
